introduction

We are a group of condensed matter theory. Our specific study targets are materials which possess novel quantum properties such as topological insulators, low dimension materials with strong quantum confinement, and new materials with excellent quantum transport properties. We focus on material electronic and phonon properties and their optical, electromagnetic, thermal responses. Our research has a close relationship with industrial applications in its guidance on designing electronic devices.

Ab initiomethod based on quantum mechanics is our main research resort. We also use some other computing method including tight binding method and non-equilibrium green's function. With these computational skills, we can do a lot of virtual experiments in various materials with low costs. Especially as the thriving development of computer these years, computational physics has shown its great potential in guiding experiments and testifying theoretical models.
